Heat Insulation conserves Heating Costs

Hi-tech windows allow a lot of light and warmth into your home, thereby letting very little heating energy escape. The ideal characteristic of a good window is reflected by excellent technological light and emission values. Top-of-the-line glazing captures a large part of the heat radiation produced by a heating system, at the same time allowing large amounts of sunlight into the living space.

Hereby, free energy from the sun acts as an „additional heater“ further decreasing heating expenses. The better the heat insulation of insulation glazing is, the higher the surface temperature on the inside of the window will be. The cold emission of the glazed surface is reduced – this facilitates a balanced room temperature and even provides a cozy feeling in the direct vicinity of the glass. Highly heat-insulating glazing is especially important for large glass surfaces – otherwise you feel chilly near the window and you literally through money for heating “out the window“.

u-value

What means the U-, g- and LT-Value

The U-value is an absolute measure for the thermal loss of a structural element – in our case a window. The lower the U-value of a window is, the smaller the amount of heat is that escapes to the outside.
Therefore, a low U-value means a high level of heat insulation and low heating costs. Three types of U-values are distinguished for windows – depending on which part of the window is being described:

Ug: heat insulation value of the glazing
(g = glass, glazing)
Uf: heat insulation value of the frame
(f =frame)
Uw: heat insulation value of the entire window
(w = window)
Two additional values from the field of emissions technology are relevant specifically for glazing, apart from the heat insulation value (U-value):
g-Value
The overall degree of energy permeation indicates how much energy of the sun floods through the glazing into the room. The rule of thumb here is: “the higher, the better“ – heating costs in winter can be reduced significantly through sunlight.
LT-Value
Light permeability indicates how much light enters the room through the glazing. High values are good here, too: bright rooms flooded with light enhance the positive mood and the level of comfort of the residents.

Conserve Energy – Protect the Climate

Using highly heat insulating window systems in connection with triple glazing can save a lot of heating energy. Not only will it save you money, it will also reduce the mission of the greenhouse gas Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Thereby, each individual can contribute to climate protection. Be a part of this effective way of preserving the environment – so future generations may also enjoy a healthy planet!
